thinking about swapping to another set of QX30 wheels with sensors already installed....will the QX30 recognize the new sensors itself? just re-learn thru the dash display?

The service manual recommends manually registering the sensors to the TPMS control unit. However, there is also a fallback "automatic teach-in" process that will hopefully learn the sensors after approximately 10 minutes of driving.

Infiniti Service Manual WT-12 said:
AUTOMATIC TEACH-IN PROCESS FUNCTION FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING CONTROL UNIT
  • Following an extended parking period of 19 minutes or more, the automatic detection and localization of the
tire pressure sensors is started when the journey starts.
  • A new tire pressure sensor is taught in automatically after driving for max. 10 minutes.
  • Side localization is conducted by evaluating the rolling direction, based on right-left information from the tire
    pressure sensors.
  • In the case of axle assignment the rear wheels which are closer to the receiver receive stronger signals than the front wheels which are further away. The reception levels for the tire pressure sensors on the rear axle are greater than on the front axle.
