I was really taken aback today to learn I don't have a spare tire. I have what they call run-flat tires, however, I didn't think taking a chance driving on it since the tire is flat as a board. Has anyone else discovered this or am I just late?

yes, I Knew this a long time post, I’ve just sign up for this web, I knew the tire didn’t have it since I got the car in 2018 at the dealer, I’ve had a bad experience also having it punched at the expressway, you can’t run and you can’t keep going for long, the tire will sound like being destroyed, I had to stop at a gas station get a plug and plug the hole, refill the tire and loose it later of course, you can’t put a plug on it, and costed me around $400.00 for a new one installed, it happened twice in different situations, very frustrated not having spare, luckily I had a tire warranty that I bought from the dealer.

Well, just got a flat the other day and when I got out to look at the tire it just looked like it was low on air, even though the tire pressure monitor showed 0 psi for that tire. It was very late at night and we were only about 7 miles from home. I suspected we had run flats on, so I decided to drive home. Only went 20-25 mph the rest of the way home. Got the car towed to the tire store the next day and they confirmed they were run flat tires. $305 to get another one, including installation and balancing, but well worth it in my opinion.
