Hi to all. New member here. Just found this group awhile ago..ive got a 2017 qx30 awd bought 2 years ago..i have a question for you guys, ive gpt a cv boot torn wide open, front left, anyone have a fix on this? Im in canada btw, ive called infiniti dealer in my place and they quote me C$1650.00 for the assembly (parts only), they said the cv boot is fixed in the axle. Any work around on it? Cant find any replacement boot anywhere..Anyone replaced their cv boot or axle assembly? Thanks

I think that nowadays it's more common to see the CV Boot being only sold in the axle assembly. I would check with a private mechanic if you have one that you trust, and see what they're opinion is.

Thanks for the reply...most mechanic i talked to said they dont replace the boot anymore, said once it was wide open already, its already got a lot of dirt in them. Might as well replace the axle assembly, its just unfortunate its too **** expensive...thanks for the reply appreciate it.

Yah I hear you. I would ask around from different places and see what they would quote you.

I have used this before ...... it is a bandaid you should use a sealed boot asap.

Look for a full universal axle joint cover. They are for sale in Europe. They are flexible and pass entirely through the axle joint.
