So far I'm absolutely loving my QX30 AWD. The one main gripe I have after seeing all the new cars coming out is the size of the center screen. I would love to have something bigger and that has full touch capability. I've asked around and unfortunately nobody seems to know how to put in a new center console, or better yet can't even make a recommendation. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it even possible?

It isn't possible. I've been dealing with an ongoing issue with my QX, and they've replaced the center screen, which also has some sort of computer tied to it in the back.
I'm curious as to the problem you're having with your screen. We've had the screen go black a few times when shifting to reverse (when the rear camera should appear). Nothing comes back on the screen even after putting in drive, park, neutral, etc. Even turning off/on the car doesn't always bring it back to life. It's happened 4-5 times now in the last month.

i'm not having any issues personally, i'd just like a bigger screen with more functionality. if that isn't possible then i guess that kinda sucks. given this is more german based than japanese(most japanese vehicles have the ability to modify easily in comparison)

hah! Same exact issue. I just submitted the lemon law paperwork on the car Saturday. You can reset it by holding down the power button on the radio for 5 seconds, however, it's been driving me nuts. It basically mirrors the same issues they had in the 2014/2015 Q50's. They claim that nobody else has reported this issue, and they can't seem to figure out if it's a short in the system, or if it's a software bug.

My advice, take a video EVERY TIME it happens. Infiniti assigned a local "expert" to my case, and he asked if I had any evidence, and my response basically was, would you like all 20 or so videos I have?

I have videos of mine too, but I never told the dealer or posted because it only happened one time, and that was like 5,000 miles ago...

My 2014 Q50 had this issue a few times, and the dealer replaced the entire CPU for the console.

So far no problem with QX30.

What are the lemon law requirements where you are?? I've heard that it varies state to state, etc.

I've had this same issue happen to me once. Previously (when I first purchased the car) I had an issue where the camera would never come on, no matter what you did. That was fixed. And now just the other day, I started the car and the screen didn't come on. I had to turn the car off completely, then back on, and the screen worked normally.

In FL it has to go back 3 times for the same issue, and you must show that you gave the dealer/manufacturer ample cause to fix the issue.

I'm in BBB Arbitration with Nissan right now. I sent them the Motor Vehicle Defect notification paperwork giving them a final 10 business days to repair the defect, and they acknowledged receipt, but so far, have chosen not to inspect the vehicle or make a final repair attempt.

For you guys that have the issue, what trim do you have? Mine is a Luxury trim, Manufactured in August 2016. I've had QX30 Loaners while this has been in and out of the shop and those have been the premium trims, and I haven't had the issue.

We have the premium and are having the problem.

Did you ever hear back from Nissan regarding arbitration?

In PA, last I checked for lemon law claims, the repair has to be attempted a minimum of 3 times and it has to be a safety issue.

We had the screen go black on us again last week when shifting into reverse. After explaining to the dealer in the past, they asked when it happens again we document with video what was happening and the state and recent history of everything. We took a video explaining what happened...shifted to reverse after a 45 minute ride, sat radio playing, iPhone connected to BT but not streaming music, screen on map, etc. Initially, after sending the video to the dealer, they wanted us to bring the car in for a few days while they worked with Infiniti engineers, but they called back to get clarification on the model, version, etc of the iPhone. They said they no longer need our car as the engineers think they know what's happening and they're working on a software update. They'll let us know when it's available.

So for others that have had the screen go blank...do you also have an iPhone connected to your QX30? In our case, it's an iPhone 7 Plus on AT&T, running the latest software (but has happened with a few versions now). That seems to be their area of focus for this issue.

I have been having the same issue with my screen going black. I also noticed that sometimes the screen freezes when I play music through my Bluetooth. And then suddenly goes black and restarts . Will take my car in this week to get it checked.

Took my car in, My dealer said they will replace the screen. This is my third issue with the car. The first one the rear trim was falling apart and then draft of air around the passenger side due to a faulty trim. Frustrated...

I just had this happen, as well. Screen went black. No backup camera, no images for radio or navigation, but the buttons worked to change the station or whatever (I couldn't tell what it was doing, but wanted to see the problem was just the screen). I didn't think to check the audio info on the dash computer thing.

I drove about 3 miles and finally pulled over, shut the car off, locked it, then got back in -- the screen came back on again. I am about 100 miles from the dealer and won't be that way for at least a month or two. Still only at 1k miles. I am going to let them know about it, along with some other things.

It's a Premium AWD without the tech package.

I have had the screen go black 2 times and it happened when going in reverse, no blue tooth phone hook up or anything just radio playing. First time it happened I shut the car off and back on and screen came back. Second time it happened I left the car running and pushed the radio volume button off and then back on and the screen came back.

I have a Premium AWD without tech package with only 600 miles

Did the dealer replace your screen to address this issue? If so, anything on the service paperwork indicating a TSB or other identifying information?

Yes the dealer replaced the screen. I was driving a loaner for 11 days. No nothing on the paperwork was indicated. Are you having the same issue ?
