My 2018 will be a year old the end of this month and has 11,500 miles on it. Noticed the leather is wearing off the side of the driver's seat. Obviously it's wear from the driver getting in and out of the car. Took it to the dealership to see if it was under warranty simply because of the age of the car and the mileage. Of course it wasn't; they said it was normal wear and tear. I then reached out to Infiniti Consumer Affairs to dispute their decision simply because I don't think a car with the cost and reputation of an Infiniti should be experiencing this type of wear so soon. I had my 95 Mercedes seats redone 10 years ago for the first time and they just are now beginning to show wear again...and until I got the QX30 I drove that car every day. Consumer Affairs refused the repair.
I am so disappointed in this car. I love the look. Love the color: liquid copper. Love the fact it has a Mercedes engine and interior. But I just don't feel it is in anyway a "luxury" car. At least on my car the attention to detail and quality of materials just aren't there. Over all the car does run good, I do have some of the minor problems others complain about on this forum...the nav system being slow, the cameras being slow, the tranny jerking, but my major complaint is the lack of concern from Infiniti overall. I haven't gotten my money's worth for the price and brand reputation.
And also, and this is totally on me, I made a mistake in purchasing the Zurich Shield Exterior/Interior protection package. So far nothing that I'm having trouble with it is covered. IE: exterior mold spores and interior leather wear. And while I did see before I signed that the contact is non cancelable by me, I figured that meant I had to go through the dealership to cancel it. That's not the case and I know I should have asked for clarification before I signed on the dotted line. Won't make that mistake again!
