Anybody having trouble getting their windows to roll up or down via the key fob? It used to work for me, but now doesn't. I switched out and used my spare fob, no luck. I got it to work once, but now it doesn't.

Thanks

Doesn't work on my QX30. I assumed we didn't have that feature. My Acura will roll all the windows down if you hold down the unlock button.

We do have that feature. It used to work for me until about a month ago. If you look in the manual, it's in section... 3 I think. I even have a 2017 and not 2018.

You can also keep your finger on the outside door handle to roll the windows up. But, the key fob will do both up and down.

Mine works for that. About every month I get a "battery low" warning on the dash, but I think it is when I put the fob in the same pocket as my phone and it does something to the signal.

Yeah, totally weird. I thought it was the battery as I got that message too. So, being lazy, I just swapped out the spare key fob I've never used before. It worked once, if I stood about 10 feet diagonal to the rear driver window. Once... that was it.

Oh well, I guess it's a dealership fix.

Good grief, I solved the problem. Battery. Even though my other fob had never been used, the battery was also bad (though no warning presented on the dash to replace battery like my other fob). Turns out you can test the fobs by pressing unlock or lock and there is a little red light that comes on for a second on the fob. If it doesn't, the battery is gone. Well, it didn't. Replaced the battery, light came on, windows go up and down via fob again.

Some complaints about the finicky-ness of this feature on the Mercedes forums.

I had this problem. Infiniti thought it was the battery as well. They had to contact Mercedes to find out that the fob becomes "unregistered" or "un-synced". It can be unregistered by hitting the unlock X number of times, but appears it likes to do it on its own. I believe the fix was to hold the fob against the start button (or insert) for a few seconds or so. That fixed mine. I also read:
Instructions on how to sync Mercedes remote:

  1. Insert the key into the ignition.
  2. Quickly remove key from ignition and within 10 seconds hold down the lock button.
  3. Continue holding the lock button, and at the same time press, the unlock button five times.
  4. Next release all buttons and press the gate/trunk button one time.
  5. Your Mercedes remote should be synchronized. Test to see if lock / unlock functions are working.
