Infiniti QX30 "Inoperative" Issue?

59323 Views 98 Replies 38 Participants Last post by  Rocco2011
Hi! I leased my QX30 in February 2017, and have had no problems, but as of a few weeks ago, the light that look like a swerving car, and the light that looks like a swerving car with "off" below it (attached in photo) have come on at random times as well as the message "inoperative see operators manual", usually when I am driving in city/stop-and-go traffic. This results in my accelerator acting strange, as I have to push harder on the gas to go forward, and when it finally starts to move it jolts ahead aggressively. Last night, the check engine light also came on which has me very worried. I plan on taking it in to the dealership tomorrow but was curious if anyone else was having this issue. Thanks!

To clarify this is the "Vehicle Dynamic Control" light and the "VDC off" light, and they stay on until I restart the car, which is when they turn off and the car drives normally again.
Lights

That dash looks lit up like a Christmas Tree! I'm guessing the check engine light might be blinking too? The acceleration issues are from the car going into low power mode (limp mode I think it's called?) to protect itself from damage. I've actually had this happen to me in this car once and lots of times on my last car (Saab). Probably the best thing to do is take it to the dealership and have them pull the codes and do any repairs. The check engine light is a catch all, and doesn't offer much by itself.

I think that in cases like this some dealers even recommend that you tow it in just to be on the safe side but calling them ahead in this case is probably the best thing to do. For all we know they might even come to pick it up just to be on the safe side.
Update

UPDATE: I went into the dealership, and they informed me a few hours later that this problem has only occurred 3-4 times in the nation, and they have yet to have found a solution. I am quite frustrated as this car has 8000 miles on it, and I am already encountering problems that do not have a solution. I also don't know how many times I'm going to have to keep going back so they can attempt to fix it over and over.
How timely, I must be one of the four people in the nation with this issue too. My dealership has been great but they too have no idea what the issue is. This is the second time it’s been in the shop now. The first time the gas pedal sensor was replaced. Now they have disconnected my after market amps to rule that out even though I’ve had them for over a year with no issue until now. I’ve had my qx30 since last November.
Sofia, what’s the latest on your qx30. I get this error pretty much every day now and hope that Infiniti can figure out what’s going on. I have to constantly turn off/on my car to reset. It’s starting to feel like Microsoft’s Millenium Edition release!

I got my car out of the shop last weekend after they tried to fix the problem by replacing the two batteries (not sure how this was connected to the issue), it worked for about 5 days and the light is now back on. So I have to take it back again when they have an opening. Overall an extremely frustrating for a brand new car, and there seems to be no good solution in sight.
So they ended up disconnecting my after market stereo amps from the battery and that seems to have done the trick. I’m not sure how it’s related and going to reconnect them to test f that was actually the issue.
I can tell you that it does not seem to weird for me that a bad/lose connection makes the car go crazy..... I had an issue where the AWD was inoperative and all the lights on the dash where lit; I could not move the car from P to R or D.
After several visits to the dealer they decided to inspect and re-hook the harness from all the wiring coming from the center console area to the front of the car; they only found a couple of lose connections but it did the trick.....
you can read about it on here I made a thread something like 4wd not working.
HI, I purchased a CPO Qx30s with only 7,700 miles on it and I have had to take it to the dealer 3 times due to this symbol turning on. The first time it came on was while driving 60 mph on freeway, it felt like the car down shifted and wouldn’t allow me to accelerate. I took it to the dealer and they weren’t able to replicate the light coming on, so it was not fixed. It happened again 2 weeks later, this time the check engine light appeared. Normally a restart to the vehicle would remove the symbols, this time it did not. I just dropped it off at dealer and am waiting for them to find a solution. Anyone happen to know what is causing this malfunction or having a similar scenario?
This happened to my wife, last night. We've dropped it off at the dealer and are waiting to hear back.

Not the same error, but I just got this yesterday. I have the LED light package on mine.

Both headlights are working fine, and they do move OK.

I also got this error during my lunch time today. As far as I can tell, the sensors are clean, and this error went away after a restart.

I wish I would have taken a picture, but I received a red battery symbol on my dash with text of 'see owners manual'.. It lasted Friday and Saturday and went away Sunday and hasn't come back...but I do have an apt this morning and I hope it just needs a new battery and that's it. Will update you all.

fastrack, P07R0457.... and updates on your warning lights?
updates on your warning lights?
The dealer said they pulled codes and did see evidence of the problem occurring; although, they were "unable to reproduce", of course.
One of my close friends is a service manager at Maserati near where I live, so I brought my car in there for a quick check-up during off business hours. He can see the codes, but told me not to waste my time to take my car in since there isn't anything Infiniti can do for these type of bogus errors.

He changed my oil while i was there using Shell oil, and reset the annoying 'Service A' message on my dash w/o charging a dime.

BTW, Maserati dealership had a Jura coffee machine in their customer waiting area.
Hello guys, well as you can see a few post back I had the issue of 4wd system currently unavailable then going into limp mode and the dash lights up.......
Dealer checked some connections under the center console and it fixed the issue.... but once in a while I get the 4WD message again last for a few seconds then goes away; I am thinking that there is some kind of software issue going on in our cars........

Maybe it's just me, but I would bring the car back in for a detailed explanation if AWD error pops up randomly. I can ignore all other minor errors, but anything that are related to safety shouldn't be ignored.
