Excessive front tire wears - strange!

Premium AWD w/ 18 inch wheels - all stock Continental RFTs.

The car is 9 months old, and I just did my first tire rotation at 4250 miles. My front tire treads are visibly lower than the rear tires. Rear tires are near new condition. I know QX30 is based on FWD platform but the wear is too noticeable. I check the tire pressure every 2-3 weeks and always maintain 37 psi front, 32 psi rear. (factory is set at 35/29)

My friend is a lead mechanic over at Maserati so we checked the wheel alignment and everything checked out fine.

How are your front tires look? Does your car wonders around on highway, and you have to keep adjusting the steering wheel?

Did you get a measurement of the tire tread?
If you accelerate/brake aggressively then I would expect the front wheels to wear down a bit quicker than the rears. The reason we rotate tires is to spread the wear out more evenly.

If the alignment checks out, I wouldn't worry about it.

Nope, I didn't measure them. It was just too noticeable.

Yes, that's true, but I do not drive this QX30 aggressively. I have a M2 to have fun. I drive QX30 like a grandma and I get 24-25 mpg in city. Not to mention, my insurance company gives out a discount based on how I drive this car, so I am very careful when driving.

I talked to the dealer and they will honor a free alignment (w/ steering wheel adjustment).

Is the alignment off? In your original post you indicated that the alignment was checked and was fine.

Right, alignment is fine. If you see my previous post, Infiniti dealer will be doing the steering wheel alignment as well.

That will take probably 2-4 hours to properly align all.
