Doors unlock and nav/radio screen default

So after reading some treads regarding the push button start, I did a test and tried my keyless go push button from my 2017 Mercedes GLE43 Coupe. Working likes a charm! Just ordered a Mercedes push button start button from Amazon.

Now I have 2 more concerns. When my wife turns off her QX30, the doors do not unlock, and when she pulls the door handle, the doors DO NOT unlock that way either. She has to physically push the unlock button. Any word if Infiniti will do an update so they unlock, like most cars.

Secondly, when she starts her QX30, the screen always defaults to the NAV map. She has to push the radio button to see the radio stations, EVERYTIME. I tried everything to see if this can be changed, and there is nothing. Are all QX30s like this? Hopefully this will be an update also.

Any feedback from other owners?

I have the same issues. The door unlock doesn't even bother me anymore because I've trained myself to always push the unlock button before I grab the handle. An update would be nice but I haven't heard anything. My qx30 also defaults to the navigation screen, but I like that. There are favorite buttons and seek/tune buttons below the screen though you can press and it will change the channel and display the new channel on the bottom of the nav screen.

I consider this to be a major safety issue. If I need to exit the car quickly in an emergency, I don't want to be fumbling around for the unlock button. What I find most aggravating is that the GLA does unlock the car when you pull on the door handle so Infiniti changed something when they redid the interior. Not that this helps a lot, but you can also unlock the door by pulling up on the (very retro) lock knob at the top of the door.
The nav screen is really annoying, though I've started to get used to push the music button on the knob. Hopefully they will fix the door unlocking, again I've started to create muscle memory of getting out of the car.
You can just set the lock/unlock so it doesn't auto-lock when you start driving. Then you won't have to unlock it to get out. I can't remember the exact trick for this, but I think it was something like hold down the unlock or lock button on remote for a period of time and it won't do it any more.
the 2017 Q60 coupe owners manual have the directions. The hazards will not blink, however the qx30 will ding to confirm deactivation. My dealership said it's a safety feature too which i feel is 100% B.S.

it should at least unlock in park or when the inside handle is slightly opened. if you are in an accident and there is no electricity, you are SOL. Can we get a software change or add the direrctions to the qx30 manual????

The automatic unlock function can be
deactivated or activated.
To deactivate or
activate the automatic door unlock system,
perform the following procedure:
1. Close all doors.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON
position.
3. Within 20 seconds of performing Step
2, push and hold the power door lock
switch to the
position (UNLOCK) for
more than 5 seconds.
4. When activated, the hazard indicator
will flash twice. When deactivated, the
hazard indicator will flash once.
5. The ignition switch must be placed in
the OFF and ON position again between
each setting change

Hi,
tried but didn't work. actually it deactivated the locking when the car is moving.
Things that work on other Infinitis do not work on this vehicle. It says Infiniti on the outside, but for now there's still a lot of Mercedes DNA throughout the car.

The lack of an auto unlock feature is very annoying! Having almost exclusively owned BMWs and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the behavior of the door handle and door lock in the QX30 feels very unusual. I have a service appointment next week to see if the technical adviser can explain how to enable to door handles to unlock when we take out the key. Every BMW and Mercedes-Benz that I have owned allows you to pull at the door handle twice to unlock the door. I want to have both automatic locking and automatic unlocking.

If anyone is interested in disabling the automatic lock, here are the instructions:

Activating/deactivating the automatic locking
feature:
1. Press the ◄ or ► button on the steering wheel to select the [Settings] menu.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select [Vehicle] submenu.
3. Press <OK> to confirm.
4. Press the or button to select the [Automatic Door Locks] function.

When the [Automatic Door Locks] function is switched on, the vehicle doors are displayed in orange in the vehicle information display.

5. Press the <OK> button to save the setting.

If you activate the [Automatic Door Locks] function, the vehicle is centrally locked above a speed of around 10 MPH(15 km/h).

Please let us know what you find out. I'd like to have the car unlock when I put it in park.
I know this is an old thread, but has a solution come up for either of these issues?
As far as I know, this is expected behavior. These aren't really issues. You could always talk to the dealer to see what they say, but I haven't seen any software updates (or otherwise) that would let you change these behaviors.

Pretty annoying expected behavior to be honest.

I guess there are different versions of the software on the car as when I press PARK the doors unlock...... :|
If you have a 2018, you have the option to have the doors unlock in park. I tried several times for some sort of software update or fix for this on my 2017, and they just flat out told me it can't be done on the 2017's.

No mine is 2017 AWD with both packs (not sure if that would be the difference) but mine unlocks when P is pressed.

Can you show a video of this please? Did you buy it from the dealer? Anything done to it? When was the car manufactured?
Mine is 2017 AWD as well but doesn't unlock in P. I believe there is a 2017.5 model that they may have added the feature? When was your car manufactured? Mine was end of October 2016.
