Thumbs down Unjustified Leasing Program

I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they opened up a case file for me on this "Unjustified Leasing Program".

Here's is my case:

I leased my G37x MSRP $47,090 12k/yr, 39 months with $612.75 COD. My monthly payment $454.
They want for the QX30 (built Premium AWD with all options) MSRP $44,245 12k/yr, 39 months $612.75 COD (apples to apples). My monthly payment is $638!!!

SO, The QX30 retail is $2845 dollars CHEAPER than my G37x, BUT they want $184 dollars MORE a month?

WHAT???

How can I justify spending almost $200 more a month for a car that is almost $3000 cheaper???

If they checked your credit rating then it might have something to do with that, although I might be wrong, could be some other variable which I can't think of. Did you get those numbers from an Infiniti Dealership?

It's not a credit issue at all and the numbers are Infiniti's. Here's the REALLY sad part. I went to Mercedes & had them run the same numbers on their GLA250 (awd) equipped the same way....car is $44k (same down) my monthly payment would be $499/month.

So let me make sure I understand. You're upset because Infiniti isn't subsidizing the lease of a brand new vehicle that's been out for all of one week and is selling briskly at MSRP (my dealership has sold half the QX30's we've received at MSRP in one week)? That about sums it up, right? And you called the whaaambulance at Infiniti to "open a case" about this? Oh, and a competitor's vehicle that's now threatened by the introduction of a close and viable alternative is discounting theirs.

Sorry buddy. But different cars have different residual values, different money factors and different incentives. All those things play into lease costs. You take two different vehicles, even if they have exact same MSRP, and they will lease differently.

If you want to see big discounts on this car, wait a little while. But in the meantime, your indignance isn't going to get much of an audience, I'm afraid.

BTW, a $43K QX30 and a $43K QX50 don't lease the same either. That's as it should be.

Sorry for the sarcasm in the previous quote, but I couldn't help myself.

Bottom line - you're comparing apples and oranges.

The newest least deal on a QX-30 premium $369/month with about 3K down. They have a few more deals on a couple different versions but mot all models. On the Infinity web page.

Thank you for the update. Here's my update I'd also like to add as a side note for the everyday consumer (not car sales people)....My husband IS a Finance Manager in a car dealership and has worked in many car dealerships in NY for the last 25 years of his life at all levels. So, what we did for now is he leased a car that I will use for the next 8 months & he'll take it over when his lease is up. At that time I will revisit the QX30.

But just to give to something to compare to....we got a 2017 Lincoln MKZ Reserve AWD V6 (the one with the same grill as the new Continental) MSRP $49k 24m lease 12k/yr sign & drive for $415/mo. Compared to the current QX30 leasing program: That's $223 LESS a month for a car that is $5k more.

At this point, I am highly considering waiting for the 2nd generation QX30 that will be keyless (creature comforts)....

You don't need to. Just go buy a $35 Keyless Go Start/Stop button from a Mercedes dealership or Amazon, and pop it into the ignition slot, and it works perfectly.
